I am – therefore I create.

Jimmy Clark (the famous movie star)*

An artist once said, “If I couldn’t create art, I would die!”
I agree. I don’t know where it comes from, but it must come out of me. Through my work, I make people see something they would otherwise never see. This surely would create thoughts they would never normally think. It is those very first thoughts, upon a glance at my work, that I long to know. Through digital manipulation of my own photographs, imaginary moments, silly situations, and fantasy scenarios are created. Although the vast majority of my art is never planned, humor tends to guide much of my work -especially in their titles. The very process of transformation amuses me: how images can be combined, portions removed, altered, or accentuated to create new thoughts and emotions in the viewer.
My hope is that you’ll do a double take, and try to make sense of it, asking “What am I looking at here? How did that happen?!”
Using images of everyday objects, architecture, and nature, my creations blend abstraction with recognizable forms, creating a different avenue of interpretation for each viewer.
~Enjoy!

Most of the pieces you see here are hanging on my walls - mounted, some with mats, framed in various nice frames, most are wood, some metal. The wood frames are ‘closed’ with paper on the back, wire for hanging, and name/date/production# tags on the back. Others have the tag on the board which closes the piece. Prices vary by size, frame and effort. Best way to buy art is really to see it framed and hanging on a wall first… By appointment only, of course.
If you’re not in the area, I’ll be happy to send you pictures of the framed piece(s) and talk on the phone about it. I really don’t like texting- it takes too long.
I have five pieces hanging -for the month of March- at The People’s Café at 2943 W. Belmont. I also currently have one piece in a C.A.V.A. Show at Mana Contemporary At 2233 S. Throop Ave.
